Another Nollywood Star Marries a White Man

Nollywood actress Chika Chukwu became a household name during the time TV series Fuji House of Commotion was a thing.
She however went AWOL shortly after the TV show ended.
Chika made a return in Rita Dominic’s recent movie, The Meeting and has since been doing a lot of press in order to return to the apex of Nollywood.
In a recent interview with The Nation, she spoke on what she has been up to and her marriage to a white man, who is from IrelandChika Chukwu MM
You were seen in a wedding dress in London and you were thought to be shooting a film, how true is this?
The pictures of me at a wedding in London are not from a film shoot and no film crew was present attending either. Yes, I got married August last year.
Who is the lucky man and how did you two meet?
I guess you can say we are both very happy and lucky, and in reference to how we met let’s just say my husband found me. His name is Brian Ahern, he is an Irish guy who lives in London and he is not in the entertainment industry.
Why the choice of an Irish man?
We think and feel the same way, we never considered any differences. You know, it never even occurred to me.
Is marriage about to make you relocate from Nigeria?
Oh, I went to school and worked in London plus I have family there, so I’ve often stayed for months at a time in the past. Well, as we just got married, my husband and I made the decision to spend the next few months together before we plunge back into our work lives. I mostly wanted to stay for a while, as he’s not part of the Nollywood entertainment scene. We do our best to balance our lives as a couple. I travel often back and forth London to Lagos anyway so no changes there in terms of relocating.
What are the other things that have happened in your life in the last one year that you were away from Nigeria?
We have so much in common, our interests and values, the things we like, nothing else matters. I found someone who loves me and who in turn I love back, that I believe is most important, plus I am not the first, nor will I be the last black Nigerian woman and actress to marry someone who is a different race, or of a different culture.

3 Nigerian Lawmakers Accused Of Se’xual Misconduct In Cleveland, Ohio; US Govt. Cancels Their Visas (Photos)

The U.S government has cancelled the visas of the three house of Representatives members, Samuel Ikon (PDP, Akwa Ibom), Mohammed Gololo(APC, Bauchi) and Mark Gbillah (APC, Benue), all pictured above, accused of alleged sexual misconduct while on an official assignment in Cleveland, USA in April this year, SaharaReporters reports.
In a petition written by the US Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, and sent to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, the US government alleged that while the lawmakers lodged at a Cleveland Hotel to attend the International Visitors Leadership Program, Honorable Gololo grabbed the housekeeper of the hotel they lodged in and solicited for sex while the other two lawmakers asked the hotel parking lot attendants to help them get prostitutes.
As punishments for their misconducts, the US government has cancelled their visa, barring them from entering the US. The lawmakers have denied the allegations. One of them, Gololo has even threatened to sue the US government.
Meanwhile the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has set up a panel of enquiry into the matter.

7 ways you make your life complicated

Black woman hugging her knees
Black woman hugging her knees

As you grow older and wiser, you realize that some things should be left behind and in the past, why? Because these things make life more complicated.
These days many people live stressful lives because they make life harder by themselves and after knowing the effect of what they’ve done, it becomes too hard to clean up the mess they’ve made.
Inspired by Lifehack, here are 7 ways you make your life complicated:
1. Waiting for the right time
People seem to wait for the perfect time to do things but forget that time becomes perfect when you make the best of it. If you are waiting on a dream that is unachievable in the near future then patience is needed but if your dream is within your reach, seize that opportunity.
2. Seeking approval from other people
Everyone wants someone to like what they do and then keep changing it. This could complicate life and stress you out. The truth to living an uncomplicated life is doing what you love and loving what you do. That way you really do not need people’s approvals to move on.
3. Continuous procrastination
Everyone is guilty of procrastinating one time or the other. Nothing messes up your head more than pushing undone projects forward. You’ll end up feeling overwhelmed and you’ll never catch up. One key is learning how to focus.
4. Taking on more tasks than you should
Saying yes to everyone is usually the main cause of this kind of complication. There should be a space to ease up and avoid over commitment. Plan and give yourself space.

5. We try to control everything
Strive for connection and not control. There’s a reason the word ‘team’ exists because it’s a known fact that one man can’t do everything. You’ll become bitter, frustrated and burn out easily if you aim to control anyone and anything that crosses your path.
6. Worrying too much
Worry has never gotten any problem resolved rather it steals your joy, peace mind and totally ruins your health. Most time worry comes from worst case scenarios we’ve painted in our minds.
7. Taking part in too much drama
Drama complicates your life and takes away your ability to see the brighter side of life. Drama causes you stress and increases depression and there are people who’ll feed off the drama you give and add more to your problems.

SWAT Team Kills Walmart Gunman In Texas Who Took Hostages

no title
Sadly, these stories are becoming the norm…
On Tuesday, an armed Walmart employee by the name of Mohammad Moghaddam took two hostages at his own workplace in Amarillo, Texas. One of the hostages was the store manager.
A SWAT team eventually shot and killed the 54-year-old suspect, and both captives were unharmed.
Police first reported the event as an "active shooter incident" at 12:30 p.m. local time, but later considered it a "work-place violence situation."
At the time of the shooting, officers helped evacuate shoppers from the west side of the store.
According to witnesses, around 20 cop and emergency vehicles swarmed the crime scene, and several local businesses went on lockdown. Authorities even closed down nearby streets.
We are just glad no one innocent was killed!

Orlando Shooting: War Veteran Reportedly Saved 70 Lives At Pulse Nightclub!

no title
Good always triumphs over evil.
On Sunday, the nation was shocked when Omar Mateen murdered 49 people at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, FL. While the massacre is the deadliest mass shooting in US history, the event also highlighted the courageous actions of a few individuals whose brave efforts saved dozens of lives.
CBS News recently spoke to Imran Yousuf — a US marine who served in Afghanistan — who worked the night of the shooting as a bouncer.
According to the veteran, he was at the club's back staff hallway when he heard shots go off. After a crowd of people joined him in the close quarters, he realized there was a door near them that could lead them to safety.
The 24-year-old recalls:
"I'm just screaming 'open the door, open the door,' and no one's moving because they're scared… There was only one choice, either we all stay there and we all die or I could either take the chance to get shot, save everyone else."'
Yousuf says around 60-70 club goers went through the exit.
Although he saved so many lives, he believes he could've saved more.
"I wish I could save more, to be honest… There's a lot of people that are dead… There's a lot of people that are dead."
We are so incredibly touched by Imran's courage!
